About The Judges
Mr Richard Morris (Lascoed)
Richard was born into a Welsh farming family where his grandmother showed and worked Old English Sheepdogs. He has owned Labrador Retrievers and Welsh Springer Spaniels with five Stud Book entries and showed extensively with his mother in the 1970's.
Richard started judging in 1979 and awarded Labrador CC's first in 1989. He is now approved to award CC's in all the breeds in the Gundog Group. He has officiated extensively overseas, including Finland, Poland, Russia and India. Richard is well known as a regular steward at shows. He has been a member of The Royal Kennel Club since 2007 and is currently Chairman of SWKA Championship Show.
He judged SWD at Crufts in 2012 and awarded his first set of CC's in 2017. Richard was heavily involved in the petition to the Kennel Club by SWD breeders to retain SWD in the Gundog group. He has also hosted several training meetings at his farm near Abergavenny for the breed.
Richard comments that it is a great privilege to be invited to judge at the Spanish Water Dog Club Championship Show and is looking forward immensely to assessing your beautiful dogs
Mrs C. Morgan (Cwsscwn) - Special Award Judge
I have been involved with dog showing since 1975 when I campaigned my first Irish Setter. Since then I have owned and campaigned English Setters, Italian Spinone, Pointers, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas and Welsh Springer Spaniels.
I am now approved to award CC's in 12 Gundog breeds plus the Gundog Group.
I am thrilled and honoured to be invited to judge this delightful breed at your club show.
